The 30 Day Skulduggery Pleasant Challenge

Day 22: Favourite scene.

My favourite scene?

Wasn’t this asked already? … OH. It was favouritefightscene, gotcha.

Well then, let me see, I’m not exactly sure what my favourite scene is to be honest with you. I have a lot of scenes I happen to like, but they all mesh into my love for the entire book they’re in.

But I guess I would have to say my favourite scene from any of the books would be when Kenspeckle actually coos and acts all grandfatherly and protective over Valkyrie while she’s crying because she chipped her tooth and got whatever other wounds while fighting. It was just so sweet because you got to see that he really did care about her and was generally concerned for her well being.

I don’t know, it’s just one of my favourite scenes really. Plus I also happen to like any where Skulduggery’s the serious (well, relatively serious) one and everyone else gets stupified.

I would also have to say another favourite scene of mine is when they’re all talking about ‘The Dead Men’ at the ball, that was just wonderful, a glimpse into the past during the war and I don’t know. It just seemed sweet to me.

Really it’s the in between scenes that I love the most.

Puzzlewood is an ancient woodland site, near Coleford in the Forest of DeanGloucestershireEngland. The site, covering 14 acres, shows evidence of open cast iron ore mining dating from the Roman period, and possibly earlier.

In 1848 some workmen, after moving a block of stone in the woods, found a small cavity in the rocks. In this cavity, hidden away, were three earthenware jars containing over 3,000 Roman coins. No-one knows why the coins were hidden away in the cliff face nor by whom.

J. R. R. Tolkien, a frequent visitor to the Forest of Dean, may have visited Puzzlewood, and many believe Puzzlewood was the inspiration for the fabled forests of Middle-earth, such as the Old ForestMirkwoodFangorn or Lothlórien contained within The Lord of the RingsJ.K Rowling is also said to have visited Puzzlewood, and it may have been this that influenced her idea of The Forbidden Forest in the Harry Potter books.
